Newtown - Charles H. Allen, 80 of Newtown, a retired farmer died at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Lafayette. He had been a patient 10 days. Mr. Allen attended Fishers School in Parke County and later Newtown Baptist Church. He had been a resident of the Newtown area 39 years. He was born in Parke County May 18, 1893, a son of James and Ida Fletcher Allen. He was married to Ina May Bennette on Oct 23, 1915. She survives. Also surviving ar ehis 98-year-old mother, who lives at Hillsdale; four daughters, Mrs. Charles (Leona) McKnight of Wingate; Mrs. Preston (Doris) Williams of Newtown; Mrs. Roscoe (Louise) Tobias of Charlestown and Mrs. Rex (Frances) Davis of Beech Grove; a half-sister, Mrs. Jennie Myers of near Wallace; 9 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Crumley-Williams Funeral Home at Hillsboro

Newtown, Ind.—Charles H. Allen, 80, of Newtown, died at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, 1974 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette. He had been a patient there 10 days.
  Born May 18, 1893, in Parke County, he was the son of James and Ida Fletcher Allen. On Oct. 23, 1915, he married Ina May Bennett, who survives.
  He attended the Fisher School in Parke County and was a member of the Newtown Baptist Church. He had resided in the Newtown area 39 years and was a retired farmer.
  Other survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Charles (Leona) McKnight of Wingate, Mrs. Preston (Doris) Williams of Newtown, Mrs. Roscoe (Louise) Tobias of Charleston and Mrs. Rex (Frances) Davis of Beech Grove; his mother of Hillsdale; a half sister, Mrs. Jennie Myers of near Wallace; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
  He was preceded in death by a son, five brothers, and six sisters.
  Services were at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Crumley-Williams Funeral Home in Hillsboro, with the Rev. David Fuller officiating. Burial was in Wolf Creek Cemetery near Wallace. – s
